The aggrieved consumer will hesitate to contract again with any company whatsoever in the same sector of activity, which may be permanently disturbed by the lack of confidence created.
This is all the more regrettable as many economic sectors have placed the customer at the center of their commercial strategy or have initiated quality assurance procedures in order to provide improved service to the consumer.
More generally, the mistrust of consumers and their circumspection with regard to certain activities, commercial practices or sales techniques, slow down purchasing decisions, induce formulas of mutual assistance, even "black work", and hinders development
of certain sectors.
“The economic consequences for the main competitors are significant.
An illustration of this can be given by the deterioration in the situation of serious fast repair companies in the Paris region.
Several professional unions in this sector have confirmed that this deterioration was very clear and had led many companies to a virtual cessation of activity.
